Winterbathers was founded to promote the sport of winterbathing. The organization is devoted to winter polar plunging. When the chill is in the air and the water temperatures drop below 50 degrees the winterbathing community comes out to visit our lakes, rivers, and beaches.
Winterbathers tend to be active community minded individuals who can be counted on to look forward to the approach of cold weather and cold water.
The organization is also devoted to promoting the idea of good health through proper nutrition and personal fitness.
Tom "Iceman" McGann has been actively involved in Winterbathing and personal fitness programs for the last 20 years. Tom has been an officer and is currently a member of both the Coney Island Polar Bear Club and the Iceberg Athletic Club
Tom has participated in numerous triathlons, open water swims, and mountain runs. These events range from The NYC Marathon, Pikes Peak Ascent, Mount Washington Run, NYC Triathlon, Govenors Island Swim, The Little Red Lighthouse Swim, and on to the Sharkfest Alcatraz Swim.
